How To Shop Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday offers shoppers lots of choices for shopping, TOO many almost. After all, 'Cyber Monday' is not a store, everyone is doing it! But who has the best deals? Where is the best place to start? Where can you go for more information? Look here for a few tips on how to shop Cyber Monday and get exactly what you need for the least amount of money.

What To Know When Using 'Coupon Sites' on Cyber Monday

Usually, the sites known as 'coupon sites' are also your best 'deal compilers' on the days for big online sales like Cyber Monday.  These sites are online all the time, trying to differentiate themselves by offering a better presentation of money saving strategies.  Of course they will be the best places to consult for an overview of the deals offered at Cyber Monday stores.  Pick a site that has the best coverage of your favorite stores with a layout that you like.

Subscribe to feeds of deal compilers.

You can always subscribe to the emails of your favorite stores, but they tend to send A LOT of email. Its a way better idea to subscribe to the 'feeds' of blogs where deals are compiled for you. All you do is select the service you'd like your news feeds placed on. This can be your iGoogle page, your MyYahoo! page, or another feed subscriber.. When you log in to check your emails or whatnot, you'll see teasers of the most recent postings of these feeds displayed on your page along with the other news you've selected. Keep your email inbox less cluttered and have someone else compile the deals for you. Centsible.net has a good feed you can get started with for not only Cyber Monday shopping, but Black Friday, Thanksgiving Day, even Labor Day Sales!

Create Accounts at Your Favorite Online Stores ahead of checkout time

This strategy will serve two purposes: it will get your information stored and ready to go when limited quantity items are released for sale online AND you'll probably get emailed a discount or two for signing up  (Many deeply discounted items cannot be "stacked" or combined with other promotions though, so use these discounts codes wisely).  When you find a coupon code site you like though, you can feel free to opt out of stores' email newsletters.  Let the coupon compiler deal with these communications while your email inbox stays clutter free.  Read the coupon sites summaries or subscribe to their data feed for 'ready-when-you-want-it' updates.  Having information like your mailing address, billing address and credit card information stored on file saves you time though.  This can be important if you're trying to shop online at work (say, on Cyber Monday) and don't have a lot of time!

Do a little research before the sale starts

You should have a game plan before you log on your shopping site.  Research and know the value of your planned purchases.  Just like in a real store, many offers are placed at eye level for you, or are offered right at checkout.  Ask yourself if you really need these impulse buys and be aware of how much of a deal you're REALLY getting on them.

Check out the return policies at your favorite stores before shopping a big sale

Its a well-known fact that its much easier to spend money on a credit card rather than it is to part with cold cash.  The internet makes all that much easier to spend money as you haven't even left your home nor have you even spoken to anyone.  Be sure to research the return policy of the company prior to making big purchases.  Most online retailers won't refund shipping charges when you return an item: this can be a big loss on items like furniture that require special handline.  Certain items cannot be returned at all.  When researching your purchase, you need to consider the return policy of a store with any big ticket items.
